President's Welcome
One of the current challenges faced by public safety officers across the United States is responding to the needs of a rapidly-increasing Latino community. As we respond to calls for help, we often find they do not speak English. As one can imagine, in the field of public safety, that lack of communication can lead to needless suffering, injury, or even death.

Badges Without Borders seeks to meet the needs of the public safety personnel by conducting Spanish-language training programs. These programs include not only hundreds of classroom hours studying the Spanish language, but also immersion opportunities where the students (public safety officials) live and work in Spanish-speaking countries in order to improve their ability to understand, speak and recognize cultural differences.

Badges Without Borders is a non-profit corporation that was established in 2003, to provide the financial and logistical support for this critical training. As our reach continues to grow, more and more countries are seeking to participate in our program, allowing public safety personnel to maximize their skills with different dialects and cultures.

Although the Badges Without Borders program is currently only offered in Indiana, extensive work is being done to offer some of our more abbreviated programs nationwide. I would like to sincerely thank you for your interest in our organization. Please continue to visit in the future for updates on ways you can stay involved and help us develop the program for your area.

Sincerely,

Carson McCaw
